March 1 is Queens Park Day for RNAO
Tomorrow is an opportunity for RNAO members to meet with MPPs at Queens Park and make comments or ask questions. You know nurses interested in SAFE renewable power will be there!
Here’s the RNAO news story…more later.
Annual Day at Queen’s Park
This year marks the 13th anniversary of RNAO’s popular political event known as the Annual Day at Queen’s Park.
The event provides an opportunity for nurses to meet one-on-one with decision-makers to address everything from nursing employment to changes in our health-care system to poverty and the environment.
Registered nurses (including RNAO’s Board of Directors, chapter presidents, interest group chairs and nursing students) will participate in meetings with more than 70 MPPs and their staffers. And for the first time, they’ll have an opportunity to sit in the public gallery of the legislature to watch question period unfold.
The event will include remarks from political leaders, including Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care; Tim Hudak, Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party; Andrea Horwath, Leader of the New Democratic Party; and Elizabeth Witmer, PC Critic for Health. Check out the March/April issue of Registered Nurse Journal for in-depth coverage of this exciting event.
